The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Carry out assessments of the public health risks and needs of the affected population
  • Make clear recommendations for public health promotion and mobilisation initiatives that are appropriate for the social, cultural and geographical context activities
  • Develop, co-ordinate, implement and monitor Public Health community mobilisation activities, ensuring that data is reported and disseminated appropriately
  • Develop with the WaSH and MEAL teams adapted monitoring and evaluation tools
  • Recruit, train, and supervise the Public Health team and provide technical support in PHP and community mobilisation for partners when appropriate
  • Represent Oxfam in co-ordination meetings with different the government and other key players when appropriate.
