We are honoured to be hosted at the House of Commons by Karen Buck MP.  Labour Member of Parliament for Westminster North since 2010 (and previously Regent’s Park and Kensington North 1997-2010).

Karen is currently Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Legal Aid. She was named Child Poverty Action Group’s ‘MP of the Year’ in recognition of her work to alleviate conditions of young families living in poverty and introduced the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Private Member’s Bill in 2017- now accepted by the government and working its way through the Parliamentary process.

When talking about Karen’s involvement in the 60th Anniversary celebrations, Pat Owen, IHPE President said.“ We are so grateful to Ms Karen Buck, MP, for agreeing to host a reception at the House of Commons to celebrate 60 years of work at the Institute of Health Promotion and Education on June 7th, 2023. We are looking forward to hearing more about Karen’s interests, centred around human rights and justice which fit so well with the promotion of health in its broadest sense”.
