Get involved and stay connected with other health promotion and education professionals. IHPE offers various membership options and benefits.

IHPE is an international network for professionals in health promotion and education, or those with a relevant qualification/significant relevant work experience. Members are unified in their ambition to protect and improve public health and reduce health inequalities. The network promotes collaborative working, supporting members to share ideas, information and experience. It provides the opportunity to unite as one voice in support of actions designed to promote individual and population health.

Membership Options

Full Member

For professionals in health promotion and education, or people with a relevant qualification/significant relevant work experience. Full members may use the post-nominals MIHPE.

£36 per annum

Associate Member

For those not currently working in health promotion and education but who hold an appropriate professional qualification.

Associate members may use the post-nominals AIHPE.

£31.50 per annum

Student Member

Students currently studying full time for a professional qualification in a field directly or indirectly related to the promotion of health. 

 

FREE – online Journal only

Retired Member

All members who have retired may continue their contact and involvement with IHPE for a reduced annual subscription. 

 

£13.50 per annum

Corporate Member

Organisations and companies engaged in or associated with health promotion and education. They are entitled to member benefits and to indicate IHPE membership on websites etc.  

£100 per annum

Fellow Member

Full members for five or more years can, at the discretion of the Board of Trustees, be elected as a Fellow.  A Fellow may use the post-nominals FIHPE. 

 

£75 per annum

Free subscription to the International Journal of Health Promotion and Education

The International Journal of Health Promotion and Education offers evidence based research, sector updates and current news. Six editions are produced each year, circulated free to our members, (cost to non-members is £225)

Quarterly Newsletters

The newsletter highlights latest news in health promotion and education. Each edition includes information from a range of news items, forthcoming events, activities and resources. Designed for those engaged in health promotion and education-based work it is a valuable source of up-to-date information .

Involvement in a community of health promoters

From a wide range of professional groups, as well as networking opportunities at events and our Annual General Meting, IHPE is also actively involved with social media for online connection and exchange of information.

Contribution to advocacy and consultations

Being able to contribute to advocacy and consultations. IHPE is committed to representing the views of health promotion specialists and health professionals engaged in health promotion and education. Members’ views are welcomed.

Use of IHPE nomenclature

We encourage members to use post-nominal nomenclature E.g. Emily Baxter BSc (Hons), MIHPE. This helps to promote IHPE as well as showing member’s support for it. (Fellows and Associates will use FIHPE or AIHPE).

Voting rights and election of Trustees

Fellow, full and associate members have full voting rights at the Annual General Meeting. In addition, you are eligible to be elected as a Trustee/Director with the responsibility for the  management of IHPE, guiding  future strategy and policy.
