Faculty of Public Health members, colleagues, friends and family are warmly invited to a celebration of the life and legacy of one of our most loved presidents, Alwyn Smith, the only president to serve two terms (1981-1986). His life and achievements have been marked in obituaries in the Guardian, the journal of the Royal College of Physicians of London, the British Medical Journal and Public Health Today.

Sheila Adam will lead presentations on Alwyn’s career and professional achievements with contributions from Ian Leck, Spencer Hagard, Dave Haran and Brenda Spencer and messages from Bobbie Jacobson, Andrew Boddy, Joyce Leeson and June Crown
6.20-6.50pm: Alwyn Smith – the legacy
Contributions from northwest recipients of the Alwyn Smith prize, including John Ashton, Alex Scott-Samuel and Nick Gent, and messages from Mark Bellis and Bill Kirkup
