Reducing Inequalities through our Healthcare Practice – BSLM and IHPE Joint Webinar, 9th December 2024
The recent webinar focussed on the roles of health professionals in reducing the inequalities gap. Our panel told us movingly and with great insight about their work with disadvantaged and marginalised communities:
Dr. Natalie Miller leads a GP practice offering services accessible to those who are homeless; Stephanie Morrison engages with prisoners in activities building health and wellbeing inside the prison walls; Johanna White is a research nurse developing supportive services in disadvantaged areas of Sheffield.
Through their sharing of experiences and responses to your questions we were led to understand more about the challenges that inequalities in health pose in practice. There was much to digest and to put forward into our work where there is most need for help to be healthy.
IHPE Wider Determinants of Health – Student Pharmacy Webinar, 2 Nov 2023
Our student ambassador, Charlie Roberts discusses broader factors impacting health with IHPE Trustees, and puts questions to the panel about their interests and experience of working in health promotion. The role of pharmacists in health promotion together with the collaboration with other health professionals is addressed, and questions invited from the audience.
